As some of you already know, we have been trying to get the word out about Hifidelics opening it’s online vinyl record store. Part of that process has been me directly contacting artists whom I know are about to, or having already recently released their music on vinyl, as a blog post can only go so far. As it turns out, searching for these artists is no easy feat. I was forced to begin searching through the social web, mainly hashtags, looking for band announcements. I learned that there is no one central destination where vinyl fans can find the latest release unless you plan on sticking with one record store; and even then you’re only exposed to the records they carry. As a big fan of vinyl myself, it’s ridiculous that anyone has to do that much searching. So I set-out to create a central destination for vinyl fans and musicians, alike.
New Vinyl Release is that destination. It’s a free, simple, ad-free service that allows artists to submit their own vinyl record release announcement, and vinyl fans can easily find their favorite artists and discover new ones. All announcements/posts are separated first by main music categories, then broken down into sub-genres covering as many as you could think of. Of course it is newly live and it will take you and me to make it what it should be. If you do not see your favorite bands on there, please tell them. And if you are a musician who wants to announce your new vinyl record release, then please submit your announcement HERE. At this point, you do NOT have to register to submit your announcement. Just add your info to the ‘submit’ page and once the announcement is approved it will go live.
